In the spirit of being a community focused organization we must do everything to preserve the health and safety of our community members. We are making an official announcement to cancel the Mar 25-Apr 6 tour.

We will decide in a week or so what to do about the last tour, Apr 23-May 6, 2020 but it will be based on what comes next. Nobody really knows right now.

The recent virus situation has caused a number of our hosts and artists to either cancel their remaining shows with us or question whether or not they will be feasible, wondering if there will even be an audience.

All senior’s centres have cancelled for the remainder of the season. Naturally folks are not feeling much like being in close quarters or having entertainment from abroad fly in to perform concerts.

International travellers are being quarantined for 14 days when they enter Canada, and the announcement this morning of the Canadian border potentially being closed only further cements uncertainty for the American artists driving up for a tour.

The whole music community is taking a financial hit on this one but health and safety is the priority. If you would like to support any of the artists that are no longer coming, remember most of them have music online for purchase, and you all have mailing lists. Next to toilet paper, music is essential when you’re quarantined!

Seriously though we wish you all the best health through this all. We are planning ahead to next season, rebooking the cancelled artists and keeping it positive.

This season, presented at the Arbor Gallery and Cultural Center, again features an excellent group of skilled performers whose background information can be found here.

We hope that you will join us in supporting live music in Canada and particularly in Vankleek Hill. Please visit the performers page for background info and the schedule page to plan your visit. Additional information can be obtained at info@vkhhomeroutes.ca
